Job Description
Estimation Engineer (Civil, Oil and Gas)
- Managing all costs relating to building projects/tenders, from the initial calculations to the final figures. Minimize the costs of a project and enhance value for money, achieving the required standards and quality.
- To Prepare detailed cost breakdown as per the scope of project/tender.
- To review draft tender and project documents to assist in the preparation of technical and commercial bids for Buildings, Civil & Maintenance projects.
- To review draft tender documents to ensure all systems and components of the tender are included.
- To prepare tender documentation queries to consultants/clients to confirm Technical & Commercial queries pertaining to Tender documents.
- Managing costs on a wide variety of projects and structures.
- Assisting in establishing a client’s requirements and undertaking feasibility studies.
- Preparing complete BOQ.
- Prepare Subcontractor’s Payments.
- Allocating work to subcontractors.
- Providing advice on contractual claims.
- Valuing completed work and arranging payments.
- Prepare Subcontractor’s Contracts.
- Prepare Comparison Sheets between Subcontractor’s Quotations.
- To ensure that the administration of contracts by projects is carried out in accordance with the company policies and procedures.
- To monitor the performance of awarded subcontracts, checking and agreeing the accuracy of monthly payment applications during the life of the subcontract and at completion of the work.
- To formulate change orders to existing subcontracts for change in scope and / or pricing.
- To assist in the review and settlement of any claims as may be raised by subcontractors.
- To assist in the preparation of change orders to the prime contract between company and client.
- In-charge of reading out tender documents, drawings, BOQ, and Specifications.
- Follow-up with quotation & price negotiations with Subcontractors.
- To communicate with internal customers and external suppliers and vendors and manage daily correspondence for quantities, costs and specifications.
Estimation Engineer (Mechanical, Oil and Gas)
- To review and manager customers enquiry process into a cost workable solution.
- To review draft tender documents to ensure all systems and components of the tender are included.
- To prepare tender documentation queries to consultants/clients to confirm Technical & Commercial queries pertaining to Tender documents.
- To interpret & review system drawings to identify any difference to tender requirements and raise queries to Client.
- Attending Pre-Tender meeting & Site visit for all the tender to check all the requirements of the tender documents and to understand the site conditions in order to estimate.
- Generate Bill of Quantity against system drawings to ensure alignment and to identify materials types & quantities and prepare equipment lists for cost estimation.
- To Estimate the cost & Man-hours involved for all mechanical works like Fabrication & Erection of Piping, Steel Structural, Equipment’s, Painting, Insulation, Fire proofing & Refractory works.
- To prepare summary of material required for the Tender to avail procurement cost / budgetary quotations and to identify material types & quantities and prepare equipment lists and rough drawings for cost estimation.
- To prepare comparison chart for the required materials from the received quotations form the total material cost.
- To develop tender cost summaries including equipment, materials and labor calculations for final approval.
- To Prepare the Technical Submittals i.e., Mobilization Plans, Method Statements, Charts, Procedures, HSEM, QA /QC etc. as per Tender requirements.
- To interpret and follow Company tendering processes and procedures to ensure all aspects of tenders are met including relevant discipline codes and standards.
- To build relationships and liaise with internal customers and external suppliers and vendors and manage daily correspondence for quantities, costs and specifications.
- Attending regular meeting and co-ordinate with various disciplines like Engineering and procurement to get the inputs related to the tender.
Skills
Qualification / Skills of
Estimation Engineer (Civil, Oil and Gas)
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience as Estimator in tendering.
- Should have Job experience in Kuwait or Gulf region.
- Technical and practical knowledge of all phases of contract development, award, administration and close-out relating to a multi-discipline construction project.
- Knowledgeable of current industry and technical developments.
- Proven track record with recognized international standard contracting companies.
- Good communication skills and strong English capability.
- Capability to accept responsibilities and accomplish project objectives in a timely manner.
- Computer Skills & Courses (Word and Excel and AutoCAD and Sap)
- Ability to finish all required work to meet deadline.
- Ability to work in a team group with good Communications.
Estimation Engineer (Mechanical, Oil and Gas)
- Degree in an Engineering Discipline (Mechanical/Industrial/Mechatronics).
- Possess 8+ years of professional experience as Estimation Engineer.
- Should have Job experience in Kuwait or Gulf region.
- Tendering procedures, discipline specific codes of practice.
- Preparing reports & records and Data analysis and tender review.
- Drawing interpretation and sketches, Materials Costs and quantities
- Ample knowledge of American standards ASME/ API/ ASTM/ Design Codes and GASCO Drawings.
